    plans for Halloween/Samhain?

Thursday, October 11, 2007, 05:01 PM CST [General]

Samhain is almost upon us, time to get the kids costumes together, buy tons of candy (and try not to eat it all between now and then), and get the altar and any other things together.  I havent used my altar yet, not everything is cleansed properly.  Have any of you done that?  Like properly cleansed, etc, etc....  When every I have done rites, I have just set up something temporary in my backyard.  Makes me feel closer to the Goddess being outside in nature I guess.

My daughters' school doesnt celebrate Halloween (offending someone I guess) but I might have convinced the rest of the PTA to try to get something going, like a story book character thing or whatever.  So one kid will be Alice from Alice in Wonderland and the other is going to be the white rabbit.  My young son is going to be and Ewok.  I found a lion costume and it will work perfectly with little alteration.  My hubby and I were going to go to a party as Spy vs Spy, but lack of funds prevent it.  We'll think of something I hope.

Its getting colder here, but since we dont have much money (yes, I NEED to do a money spell, or a "hoping to get a part time job" spell.) so we havnt turned on the furnace yet.  Maybe by the end of this month, till then, pile on the sweaters and blankets and dont whine about it.

The boxes of veggies from the CSA/organic farm are getting smaller, but the squashs they are sending are wonderful.  We carved our pumpkins and made a scarecrow to put out on our front porch.  SO things are looking festive, just no halloween decor as of yet.  I need to get on the ball with that, maybe tomorrow.

Take care all and blessed be and think warm thoughts.

re be careful what you ask for

Monday, September 10, 2007, 09:01 PM CST [General]

If any of you read my previous entry about my neighbor friend, and also being careful what you ask for, she told me that she has been thinking and probably chanting, something to the effect of her needing big bucks to come her way ( think money).  Well, she was walking with her dog the other day and they almost ran into a ten point buck.  LOL

    Accounting can be confusing....

    money and plasma

Monday, September 10, 2007, 05:27 PM CST [General]

Well, back at school for another night of education, principles of financial accounting.  Sounds fun right?  This has to be quick, for I have class in like, 5 minutes.  Another boring day, did extra at work so I could earn extra money.  And I went to the local plasma donors (the stab lab) yesterday for money for plasma...yippee...  Going to go again on friday...Maybe I should just try a money spell.  I have been thinking about it, but one has to be so careful as to what to wish for.  I still have yet to do this one thing that my neighbor told me about.  A green cloth in the north? side of your house with a crystal bowl on it.  Keep the area clean and think about money when ever you go by it, or something.  Course, I need money to buy the crystal bowl....LOL.

Time to go get edumacated :)

    first school day

Thursday, September 6, 2007, 08:13 PM CST [General]

well, here I am finally back at school, taking a product design class.  My only fear is that I wont be able to use what I am learning, or even forgetting what I am learning by the time I get out into "the real world".

I was able to register because my pell grant went through and paid off my debt to the college, yay no money out of my pocket, since the only thing is there is an old cigarrette butt and lint.  LOL...

Didnt do much today, grocery shopped and worked.

It was my girls first day of school too, they are growing up to quick.

I think I might have finally identified valerian tho...which is cool.  So anyone with experience with herbal remedies and what not, please message me.  Someday I will be able to look at more profiles on this site.  Since I dont have the internet at home, I can only use it at school or at my parents house.  Maybe someday I will pay off my debts and be able to afford at least dial up.  who knows.

    Take care and blessed be

    canning day

Monday, September 3, 2007, 12:56 PM CST [General]

I have never done a blog before, but here goes.  Today my parents and I are canning green beans, tomatoes, and peppers.  The majority of the peppers I have grown in my own garden.  But the tomatoes and green beans are from an organic farm that we have shares in.  Now we will have tomoato sauce, roasted tomatoe sauce and pickled green beans to last the winter.  Its so nice to use the organic veggies too, it makes the sauces taste so much better.  I am also making zucchini bread and muffins (fresh from my "organic" garden) and oat bran muffins.  My oven doesnt work, hasnt worked for almost a year, so I have to go to my parents house if I need to use the oven.  Hopefully we will have enough money to get it fixed before winter.  My husband is at home right now with our 3 kids.  He going to go pawn some stuff so I can pay my school so I can go back to college ("junior" year, I am going to a night accelerated program).

We just returned from a long weekend camping, came back a day early so that we could vacation from our vacation, but I am canning so no sitting around for me.

Maybe I will put in another post soon, but I dont have a very exciting life and I missed the last holiday, Lunnasagh(sp? sorry if I murdered it).  Maybe I will catch the next one.  I did decorate for fall with a leaf garland and a wreath with leaves and apples and a pentagram using different colored braided ribbon. It is pretty and that goes with the two stars that are made of barbed wire.  I love them.

So until next time. Blessed be, recycle and be kind to others.
